About Us

Brief description

Multimedia facility for the capture and editing of a variety of images/sounds: Film / video transfers to DVD including: Home cine movies - 8mm, Super 8, 16mm and 9.5mm films; Home videos - VHS, Betamax and Video8 and MiniDV. Sound Capture and Mastering onto CD including: Vinyl Albums, DAT, MiniDisc, Tapes and Cassettes. Restoration and Reprinting from Photographs (including from negatives) and Documents.

Trade Bodies / Associations

Owner / operator has been a member of the Moving Image Society (formerly the British Kinematograph Sound and Television Society) since 1983 (MBKS), and is an Associate Member of the South African Society of Cinematographers (Sound Engineers).

The Transfer Bay is the only facility of this type in the region and offers a unique service with absolute care in the handling processing of all precious material. 30 years experience in the broadcast and related industries is part of the service. If the Transfer Bay is not able to undertake a task, it will try and locate another service that can.
