Joulani no Jewel! I bought a designer dress in March 2009 for over £200. Prior to the item being dry cleaned per the garment instructions after a single wearing, the belt was tested in a basin of cold water with no detergents and the black dye ran instantly. It appeared that the dress hem and neck panel was also of the same material and colour. This was brought to the attention of the dry cleaners BEFORE the item was cleaned and the dry cleaner expressed an opinion that the garment may well run and doubted the colour stead-fastness of the garments dyes. Naturally one can purchase an item at a tenth of this cost form many high street retailers. Their garments still use steadfast colours and do not run. It is incredible that a dress of this price should be manufactured in such a way. I appreciate many customers may only wear such items once; it appears Joulani is banking on this! However at any price tag let alone £200+ the customer should be able to clean it. Upon returning the dress to the shop I received the curtest possible reply from the Italian owner who said "It is not my problem" and refused to discuss the matter further by attempting to unfairly and erroneously transfer the blame to the dry cleaners. As a retailer myself and owner of two national retailer operations I am not without considerable experience of dealing in the retail sector and have never encountered such a lack of customer service; certainly in polar opposites to not only my own company but also fellow retailers that I am familiar with. Would I recommend? Customer service is non-existent and thus after-sales too. STAY AWAY!
